Stallholder/Exhibitor Risk Assessment Guidance

Organisers and those who take part in providing outdoor events have a public duty to consider the impact of any risks on the public arising from their activity.

You probably have never had any incidents relating to your stall. This maybe because you already take care of possible eventualities, therefore a risk assessment is the documentation of the care procedures which you already undertake.

Craft, non-food and information stalls: Stallholders are reminded that they are responsible for the health and safety of their own stall and any risk it poses to the public. You are required to take out your own insurance.

Food sales stalls, Health and wellbeing products: You must carry liability insurance. Photocopies of your Produce and Public Liability Insurance Certificates must be provided to Eastern Bird Fair. The producer has sole responsibility for complying with all local and national laws and regulations regarding the production, labelling, display, storage and sale of goods. Full co-operation with Trading Standards, Environmental Health and other public protection agencies will be a condition of attendance. You must display food allergy advice.

The assessment of risk has six stages:

Identifying all possible risks.
Identifying the likelihood of the risks occurring
Determining the likely severity of the risks if they occurred.
Deciding on ways to avoid or reduce risks to acceptable levels.
Keeping a record of the above on a risk assessment form.
Communicating your risk assessment to everybody who works on your stall

Before and after excursions are available to exhibitors and visitors to visit the Danube Delta, Shabla-Durankulak Coastal lakes and the Steppes of Kaliakra and also Burgas (please see website for details)

Restaurants and food outlets are widely available in the neighbouring area
